BARBOUR came to life in North-East England, more than a century ago!
John Barbour, then a regular tailor from Newcastle, thought of designing strong clothes in coated
fabric, made from sails, for farmers.
Then, he started developing more modern items for fishermen, bikers or hunters.
The British firm was also providing the royal court with garments and got rewarded with the label
of « Supplier of her Majesty the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales ».
Since then, the lines broaden up and became more accessible, BARBOUR was always
relevant…
Today, the brand rejuvenates with Tokito Yoshida and his capsule collection « Barbour X
Tokito ».
And here comes the traditional English outdoor style, revisited by a Japanese designer!
BARBOUR’s popular rural codes are revamped and entirely revised to target a chic and urban
new audience… A breath of fresh air and a « close to nature, hunting and fishing » touch,
intended to survive better through the urban jungle with elegance and authenticity!
